    $3.8M IRS OCIO sole-source contract (Award 205AE926P00004) to modernize the Error Resolution System (ERS) off its legacy Unisys mainframe — ERA is the required 1:1 functional replacement, matching existing business logic exactly rather than redesigning it.

    • Owned microservices architecture decisions independently, including service boundaries and message contracts for upstream GMF MOD integration — when ticket requirements left gaps, resolved them by going directly to the source (Functional Specification Packages and the Internal Revenue Manual) rather than waiting on clarification.
    • Architected and built Spring Boot microservices to accept and validate 20+ form types with complex, form-specific rules logic, supporting millions of submissions annually.
    • Engineered a version-aware payload conversion layer using polymorphic deserialization and a Spring factory pattern with automatic bean detection — full backward/forward compatibility with zero-downtime migration of existing records.
